Who can sign up to volunteer?
Anyone with expertise to share can sign up to be an expert. This includes, but is not limited to, scientists, lawyers, licensed site professionals, doctors, nurses, health care professionals, issue area experts, and other environmental experts (whether or not you have letters after your name) committed to assisting residents in building a cleaner, healthier environment.
What is the time commitment required?
You set the level of engagement you wish to have. On the signup form, you can select how deeply engaged you’d like to be—from responding to brief questions via phone or email, to providing legal representation or translating scientific data. You can always edit your selections if your availability changes, and you can choose whether or not you have the capacity to respond to a request each time you receive a request for assistance.
Will my contact information be private?
Your contact information will only be available to staff at the organizations you wish to have access. You can select all three or just one, although we suggest you make your information available to all. Your contact information is never shared with people outside of the organizations you select. Volunteer experts within the database cannot see each other’s data.
